James Colson Baker was depressed and unemployed, while Sonia Alane, his mother, left the Baker family at only nine years old. Baker and his father relocated to Denver and lived at the house of his father's Aunt. Baker had to endure bullying from fellow kids because of his poverty. As a sixth-grader, he began listening to hip-hop. Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gun Kelly was born on the 22nd of April, 1990, in Texas in the U.S. His music is a blend of contemporary hip-hop, alternative and rock. Baker, who signed with Bad Boy Records in 2010, released four mixes between 2007 and 2010.
